“If music be the food of love, play on!” When a shipwreck drops a beautiful young woman on a balmy beach in the sultry Mediterranean, it’s the start of an exotic romp of mismatched lovers, mistaken identity, and passions run amok. Enjoy one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays in which a royal love triangle swings from ingenious comedy to glorious romance. Directed by Jon Jory, who brought us last season’s elegant Pride and Prejudice, Twelfth Night reminds us once again that love is both blind and sublime. Arizona Theatre Company’s production is part of Shakespeare for a New Generation, a national theater initiative sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts in cooperation with Arts Midwest.
