With much sadness, one of our Associates, Ann Zam Rachlin passed away this July. She was an integral part of our team and we will miss her. Ann always had a smile for everyone that came across her path. Her contribution was significant and vital to ATC’s and the Associates’ mission and accomplishments. She was willing to take on any challenges and task set before her, always with a smile. She enriched the personal being of anyone she connected with. We will truly miss her.

Volunteering in Tucson
by Mary Jo Ghory, M.D., Chair of Tucson ATC Associates
On Sunday, September 9, 2007 at the Temple of Music and Art, the Tucson ATC Associates will have their season kick-off event. Light refreshments will begin at 3:00 pm and at 3:30 pm there will be an orientation for the ushers and a preview of volunteer opportunities for the 2007-2008 season. Join us for the event and learn how to become a volunteer!
Activities for volunteers at the theatre include staffing the gift shop, helping with Meet and Greet events for the actors, preparing for the annual Gala and participating in the annual fashion show, Dudes, Dolls, and Divas. Because ushering at the Temple of Music and Art is such a popular position, we have a waiting list, but would appreciate knowing of your interest in ushering. Every summer, we invite those who are interested to participate in a training specially created for our ushers so you can be ready to fill any open spots. In the past couple of years the volunteer group has grown impressively, and there are more and more chances now to support the theatre in many different ways.
Last year’s Dudes, Dolls, and Divas was a huge success. More information to come for the 2008 DDD! There is a lot of enthusiasm already in the planning of this year’s event in the spring. Anyone interested in any of these volunteer opportunities should come to the kick-off event to get involved early. For more information on how you can join Tucson ATC Associates, please contact us at 520.884.8210, ext. 8302 or by email: TucsonVolunteer@ArizonaTheatre.org
