Find out about the show's inspiration from one of its co-creators and read about Fats Waller's contribution to the world of jazz, as well as a look at the African American musical in the American theatre.

This is also your chance to catch up with the artists who are putting it all together, most of whom are familiar faces to ATC audiences. You can also discover some precursors to this musical about a musical.

ATC IN OUR COMMUNITY
ATC’s Gala 2009 was a resounding success and a delightful evening serenaded by the Belle of Broadway Susan Egan. Also, we take a moment to congratulate Beth and I. Michael Kasser, Outstanding Philanthropists of the year in Tucson.

EDUCATING ARIZONA
Arizona Theatre Company is starting a new education initiative, The Actors' Lab, where students can get training from theatre professionals at weekend classes. Another ATC program, Teen Critic, which trains young writers how to evaluate and critique a theatre production in print turns five years old.
