“If music be the food of love, play on....”
The perfect way to end the dry Arizona summer: an evening of ocean breezes and Mediterranean swing at the Temple of Music and Art! Join us for a refreshing celebration of our 40th anniversary season with dinner, dancing, and world-class theatre.
This black-tie event begins with wine and hors d’oeuvres in the courtyard of the Temple of Music and Art and the chance to mingle with Tucson’s best and brightest! From there, it’s a short trip inside the theatre, to the Mediterranean in a stylish rendition of Shakespeare’s TWELFTH NIGHT. This production will be directed by Jon Jory, who led ATC audiences into the elegant world of Jane Austen’s England with last season’s Pride and Prejudice. Following the performance, dinner is served in the courtyard, featuring international cuisine prepared by Carte Blanche Catering and Café a la C’Art. Cap off the evening dancing to the rhythms of Cool Breeze with Homero Cerón, featuring all your old favorites with a worldly twist.
GALA 2006 is also an opportunity to honor Arizona Theatre Company supporters who have shown an extraordinary commitment to the arts. The Georgy Award, named for ATC Trustee Emeritus and benefactor George Rosenberg, is presented annually to individuals and organizations that have made a meaningful contribution to our company. This year’s recipient, Darryl B. Dobras, has a long history of supporting ATC, both as our former Board Chair and as a long-time donor. Most recently, he was instrumental in acquiring the Hotel Glenwood for our new offices in Tucson, giving ATC its first ever permanent administrative home. In addition to their support of ATC, Darryl and his wife Mary Ann have longstanding commitments to a wide variety of arts and cultural organizations in Tucson. He certainly deserves this honor and recognition for all he has done.
The all-inclusive cost for the evening is $200 per person (of which $125 is tax-deductible). For more information, or to make reservations, please call (520) 884-8210, extension 8303.
